We love looking at the different technologies available in the Honda vehicles that we provide here at Hilton Honda, such as the new Rear Seat Reminder technology found in the 2021 Honda Odyssey. It’s been a while since we’ve looked specifically at one of the Honda Sensing technologies, so we thought we’d jump on one of the last ones we’ve yet to look at today: Traffic Sign Recognition. We’ll give you the rundown on what exactly TSR is and how it works.

What does TSR do?
We don’t always catch a road sign before it passes, so sometimes you might find yourself asking what the speed limit is and not being able to get an answer. The Traffic Sign Recognition System works to remind you of any road sign information it’s able to read. It then displays this information on both the driver information interface and the head-up display if your Honda vehicle includes that feature.

How does TSR work?
The front-facing camera that can be found behind the rearview mirror is capable of recognizing and capturing different road signs you pass on the road. The system will then determine which of these signs are designated for you and display those on the interface. The system has a predetermined time and distance built in, and the sign icon will only be displayed until the vehicle reaches that point.
