Track Focused Type R Specs & Features
2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition Exterior Front Fascia
The Civic Type R Limited Edition will be lighter and faster than the current production Type R, which is definitely saying something. Featuring all of the updates that came to the 2020 Type R plus even more enhancements intended to make this the very best street-legal track Type R possible. Honda will only be building 600 of the limited-edition vehicles, all of which will adopt a new exterior color called Phoenix Yellow. Each vehicle will also have its own serial plate, individually numbered to showcase its authenticity and exclusivity.

When it comes to modifications for the Type R Limited Edition, we’ll start with the wheels. New forged aluminum wheels are more lightweight than the current wheels, built by top-notch manufacturer BBS. The wheels lead to 18 pounds of total unsprung weight reduction, while weight is further reduced by 28 lbs. thanks to materials meant to deaden sound and removing certain features like the rear windshield wiper, tonneau cover and rear heater ducts. Further modifications include specially tuned dampers and recalibrated steering. Design is further set apart by gloss black paint on the roof, outside mirror caps and intake vent in addition to the unique exterior color. A dark chrome Civic badge brings everything together on the rear hatch. Be sure to check back often for further updates about this special version of the 2021 Honda Civic Type R, we’ll fill you in as they become available!
