2019 Honda Ridgeline vs 2019 Chevy Colorado
There is such a thing as having too much truck, and if you don’t need a full-size pickup, a light duty or midsize model might be better for you. After all, these smaller and more agile pickups are great for that durability, capability and versatility you need, while also being useful for the daily commute. To help you find the right model, we’re comparing the 2019 Honda Ridgeline vs 2019 Chevy Colorado side-by-side right here.
Now, we’re all about full transparency here at Hilton Head Honda, so there is one thing you should know. We’re comparing the entry level trims for each model in the chart below, and there is a sizeable gap in the starting MSRP between the two. The 2019 Colorado Base has a starting MSRP of $20,500, while the 2019 Ridgeline RT has a starting MSRP of $29,990.* You may think that’s a pretty shocking difference, but there are some things you should know before you get sucked into the temptation of such a low-priced truck like the Colorado.

Differences Between the 2019 Ridgeline and 2019 Colorado
Despite its starting MSRP of just under $21K, the Colorado has a much less powerful standard engine, with horsepower and torque more in-line with a midsize sedan. It also doesn’t come standard with some basic amenities, such as cruise control, USB ports for your phone, or even floor mats. It also comes standard with only 2 seats (with seating space varying between 2-5 depending on what trim level you choose), while the Ridgeline always comes with space for 5 passengers. Perhaps most shocking of all, however, is that the Colorado doesn’t even come standard with FWD and instead has a RWD setup paired with a manual transmission. If our guess is correct, you aren’t going to want a pickup with a manual transmission or RWD, regardless of anything else we mentioned above, and that is why that attractive starting MSRP isn’t likely to be what you’ll actually end up paying for your new Colorado.
We’ve really only scratched the surface in this comparison between the 2019 Honda Ridgeline vs the 2019 Chevy Colorado, but as you can already see, the Colorado is likely not going to be the shockingly cheap pickup you were looking for.
