Honda shook up the midsize sedan segment with the redesigned Accord in 2018, but that model is back for 2019 and its going up against a Toyota Camry model that has seen its own changes for the 2019 model year. A while back, we compared those 2018 models on our blog, but now we’re here to provide you with the updated matchup between the 2019 Honda Accord vs the 2019 Toyota Camry.
Last time, we focused on the Touring model of the Accord and the XSE V6 model of the Camry. This time, however, we’ll be sticking to the entry level models for those drivers looking for a budget-friendly option. Indeed, the 2019 Honda Accord is budget-friendly, as it has a starting MSRP of $23,720,* which is just a bit less than the Camry even though it comes standard with USB ports, a power-operating trunk release, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system... none of which are standard on the Camry.

The Accord really impressed last year with its pair of power engine options, but in all honesty, the Camry does well to compete with its own power plants. When it comes to standard engine power, it’s a bit of a toss-up, as the Camry has more horsepower but the Accord has more torque. If you ask us, we’d take more torque almost any day, as that is what delivers that exhilarating and sporty driving feeling in real-world driving situations. But, the choice is yours.
Regardless, there is one thing you expect to find in a midsize sedan, and it’s often why drivers choose a midsize car over a compact... and that is more space. The Camry seriously disappoints with only 100 cubic feet of passenger space, while the Accord not only excels in passenger volume, it also impresses with a ton of trunk space.
Now, we’ve only scratched the surface here comparing the 2019 Honda Accord vs the 2019 Toyota Camry, but you can’t deny the Accord is certainly shaping up to be the appealing option. To experience it for yourself or to learn more, contact us at Hilton Head Honda.
