2019 Honda Odyssey vs 2019 Toyota Sienna

Recently, we created a webpage resource to help you compare the 2019 Honda Odyssey with the 2018 Toyota Sienna. Well, now, Toyota has finally released the 2019 variation of the Sienna minivan, and although there are no major changes for the new model year, we thought we’d create an updated resource for those specifically looking at the 2019 models. Last time, we compared the top level trims for both the Odyssey and Sienna, but this time, we’ll focus on the entry level trims for those drivers looking to keep things more affordable.

One thing Toyota has done to make the Sienna more appealing is adding Apple CarPlay infotainment, something that has been in the Odyssey already. This allows you to seamlessly connect to your favorite smartphone apps while on the go. But, there is a cost associated with changes like these, and you’ll see that the starting MSRP of the 2019 Sienna is set at $31,115, more than the starting MSRP of the 2019 Odyssey, at $30,090.*

Differences Between the 2019 Odyssey and 2019 Sienna

Despite the uptick in price, however, there are some features that don’t come standard on the 2019 Toyota Sienna... features that you might expect to come at no extra cost. Such features do come standard on the 2019 Odyssey, and these include USB ports, a seatback storage pocket and a keyless access system. Is this a big deal? Well, the lack of USB ports probably are for many families, but regardless, for a car over $30K you’d expect some of those basic amenities.

There may not be a ton that separates the 2019 Honda Odyssey and 2019 Toyota Sienna, but in our mind if you look at the chart above and some of the details we have provided, there is enough to give the Odyssey an edge for those looking to maximize the value they get in a new minivan.
